Route operations in Southport. There is no hard and fast rule as to vehicle type to route allocation in Southport. On the whole routes 42/44 are operated by the Wright bodied B6/10BLE’s with the occasional Plaxton bodied Dart or Marshall bodied Dart, routes 43/46, and 49/49A are operated with anything allocated to Southport you can see examples of most types on these routes although route 49/49A seem to have more high floor buses allocated to it than route 43/6, Route 47 is normally operated by Marshall bodied Darts and SB220 2624, routes 48, 48A & 300 are worked by Wright Endurance bodied B10B’s with the occasional low floor bus usually Wright bodied examples, routes PR1, PR2 are operated by the DAF SB220’s and Saturday only PR3 is worked by the Plaxton bodied Darts, with other low floor buses covering for shortages, the Plaxton bodied Darts also work on any route, and the Olympians work on routes 43/6, 47B, and occasionally 49/49A, although ANY bus can appear on ANY route

Volvo OLYMPIAN all have been noted during the week working on routes 43/6, 49/49A & & L. C. C. Schools, an unidentified member of this batch was noted working route 300 on Monday, 3362/4/5 have been fitted with CCTV, 3363 has NOT been fitted as at Saturday
Volvo B10B All have been noted out during the week with the exception of 6535, working routes 48A, and 300, with routes 43/6 seeing 6515/20/38/58, Route 47B seeing 6546, and routes 49/49A seeing 6516/7/21/7/36/45/8,
It is reported that 6622 has an incorrect registration plate on the front being N662CKA, not N622CKA, it was noted on Thursday with the correct front registration!.DART SLF/PLAXTON (FORMALLY GAS POWERED) all have been noted out during the week working routes PR3, 49/49A, 43/6 and 42/4, 2292 saw use on route 48A on Monday
DAF SB220 all have been noted working Park & Ride services PR1, PR2 & 47 during the week, with 2624 seeing use on route 43/6 on Monday
Volvo B10SLF All have been noted out during the week working routes 42/4, 43/6 47/47B and 49/49A,
Volvo B6BLE All have been noted out during the week with the exception of 2804, working routes 42/4, 43/6 and 49/49A,
DART SLF/MARSHALL all have been noted out during the week working routes 43/6 47/47B and 49/49A, with route 48A seeing 7651 (08D16 0418 (4)), and route 300 seeing , 7651 was commandeered from service 47B to take over a 48A duty at 11.30 on Friday whilst working towards Balmoral Drive.
