Hearing How much is that doggy in the window.
Scamp
Hello Everyone, Please take a look at my dog "Scamp".
Six years ago I was doing an afternoon show near Birmingham. I finished & went to load up my motor camper van. Outside was a tiny puppy, soaked in the rain & bleeding from his paws where he had been run over. I opened the van door & he jumped in, I held my hand out to him & he growled at me, on top of that he stunk like a skunk. As I was close to the motorway it was clear that some kind of pond life had abandoned him.
I headed for the next show which was that night at Galanos House near Rugby. On the way I bought a tin of food for my companion who appeared to have adopted me. He ate it in a flash & looked at me as if I was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I did the show & parked up in the Galanos House grounds as usual.
I cooked myself a meal & prepared my bed, I knew I had to let my little friend out & just hoped he would be okay, I had no collar or lead but I knew the grounds were massive and just prayed he would not run off and get lost. I thought he had, he just disappeared & after half an hour of whistling I gave up & got back in the van.
After an hour I went to bed feeling very sorry for him but pleased that at least he had a good meal. I was dropping off when I heard a tapping on the side door of the van. It was very late and I hoped it was not the local yob element which is so common these days. I heard the tapping again & opened the side door, I looked out but there was no one there. I looked down & there he was perched on his back legs tapping with his front paw. He has been with me ever since, he often meets the audience & loves it when I play at barbeques. He is the best friend I ever had & his name is : -- SCAMP. I hope you meet him one day, Clem Vickery.
