Autumn sun

A lovely autumn so far this year with sunny days coming from misty mornings: just the way it should be. When the dew finally lifted I mowed the lawns for what I hope will be the last time this year. Time to get the lawnmower cleaned up, sharpened and serviced before packing it away in the garage for the winter.

It looks like we are on the move at work. My landlord wants our office back and we are planning to buy a large Finnish log cabin and place it by the entrance to the garden centre. We could do without the expense and the hassle but should end up with a nicer building in a far better position.

One of the big challenges forced on us by the move is what to do with the show gardens. That magnificent Acer may move but many other plants will not. There are water features, sculptures and acres of paving to reclaim, together with decking, pergolas and a lovely American gazebo. Some will go to France if we can spare the manpower, others be re-used here. The rest will go into storage in the yard, I guess.

Our new web site has finally been finished. We now have two reached from the same location: one for the Design and Landscape Centre and one for the Garden Design Company. The next task will be to translate them into French. Feel free to check them out and offer (constructive) feedback.
