This hasn't been my week,month,or even.............. ..
About a week ago I was getting ready
to go away and hubby came to the front
door and asked me to open the garage
door so he could put a battery charger
in my trunk that our
daughter wanted to borrow....
and he said you may as well go ahead
and go then. . so I grabbed my purse. . .
later I called him on my cell and told
him how long I would be and he says. .
It's a good thing I went right into the
house after you left. . .
and not back to the barn. . .the house was
full of smoke. . .I forgot I was heating him
up some chili to eat(I hadn't told him I was)
and I had it up on high to get it done quickly
before I left........
Then -one day I needed to change a light bulb
in my living room overhead fan light... well the
bulb shell came off in my hand and the inner
wires were still in there-exposed....not bad
enough - -I needed a bulb over my kitchen sink
---yep same thing happened......
Then -the other day I went to pull the
chain to turn off the same living room
fan/light and the chain comes all down..
it broke off clear up inside the hole at
the top- - -no way to turn it off and the
nightlight at the top burns steady now.....
- - I have this little plexi-glass shelf
above where my toaster is in the kitchen,
and I bumped it and heard something from
it fall, but 'assumed' it fell to the counter.
I make toast for hubby-no problem...hours
later I go to put in toast for me...apparently
I used different holes for him...it's a four
slice toaster...anyway. . . the bread wouldn't
go in one slot. . . so I unplug it-one smart thing
I did. . . I look in and melted to the thin wires
inside is an inkpen...Try as I might with pliers
to get that sucker out of there- I had a devil
of a time retrieving it. . .
Ok later-same day. . .
I turn on a burner to
fix grandson something to eat....
darn burner is not heating up---
what the heck stinks then..
. . .I had turned on the back burner where
I had a wok with a plastic spoon resting
in it . . .YEP
melted that sucker to the wok. . .
My daddy used to say
'Better days are coming'
I think they came - - & went
and I was in the bathroom
and missed out on them altogether. . .

Any one of those things could have been really bad. I'm so glad you are okay and nothing was harmed -- too badly! I hope that does it for "bad luck" for you for the year!

My goodness you are lucky you didn't burn the house down with your chili incident!! It sounds like you should stay away from toaster, light bulbs, chains on light bulbs, stoves......how about anything that turns ON or is electrical!! Be careful!
