Listen to the Podcas: Psychic Coffee-Cup Readings
This podcast segment is an extract from a recent telephone conversation I had with a caller from the United states, who visited my web site and wanted to know how to interpret symbols in a coffee cup.
In it, we discussed how to interpret specific symbols (horse, crown, moon and anchor), and how to go about reading the coffee cup. It is podcast here with her permission. For those of you who have not heard about psychic Turkish coffee cup readings, it is very much like a reading tea leaves- the skill of interpreting coffee grounds formed in cup are very much perfected with practice.
I hope you will find this segment interesting and useful. If you are interested in coffee cup readings and have ever had a coffee cup reading, I would love to hear from you. If your story is appropriate, I would also like to include it in my upcoming book on the subject. Please email meon Sahar@psychicsahar.com and let me know.
Symbols of Horse, and Crown:
A horse, or a crown denotes good news. In my experience, they symbol or a horse always stood for good news, particularly that to do with a relationship. Specifically, it signals an engagement or a commitment or a proposal of marriage. The crown is also good news, but it is more about having really good fortune. In this case, if the two symbols are near each other, this indicates that accepting this proposal of marriage is going to lead to happy fortunate life together- in this a case a double omen if you like.
Crown is about prosperity, and good fortune. The horse is about a proposal or commitment in a relationship.
Moon and stars:
In the coffee cup the moon literally denotes timing- so its shape will give an indication if something is occurring at the beginning of the lunar month or at the end of it.
The star is a very, very good omen. It is a very lucky symbol as in ‘thank your lucky stars’. If I see a star in the coffee cup it is definitely good news. In general a star as a very lucky symbol, if you are concerned and you see a star it means relaxed outcome would be very fortunate.
An Anchor:
If you see an anchor, this literally indicates a move- somewhere new where you will be anchored! This could mean a new home, office, or country. The way to interpret symbols is to see what other symbols are close by. If you see the star next to a moon and an anchor; this means that a new move will be lucky and will happen in at that time of the lunar month (notice if the moon is waxing or waning, a crescent or a full moon). The anchor is also a symbol of stability and a decision to do with a home move. So the way you read that according to what is the shape of the moon next to it. It means that the move, which will happen at that time, would be very lucky.
Position of symbols in a cup & timing:
If you see the symbols at the bottom of the cup, it means it will happen later as opposed to sooner. Again in my personal dictionary symbols that appear closer to the top of the cup, or the rim, indicate that they will happen very soon, in the middle of the cup medium-term future, and towards the bottom of the cup indicates long-term future.
In order for the reading to make sense, I always try to structure the information by starting to interpret symbols I see near the handle of the cup, and work my reading around the cup, in clockwise manner. So the symbol that appear nearer or at the handle indicate that they will happen in 'immediate' future; and as you move further away from the handle, clockwise, things will transpire later, and later on into the future, and so on. So this way you have an indication of timing.
Important tip:
Write down the symbols and the information you receive and the day that you do the reating, this way you can begin to see how things unfold and when they do, and therefore you will begin to understand how to interprate timing, and what the symbols mean for you.
In general, work your way through the cup starting with the handle reading clockwise and try and weave a story between all the different symbols that you see. By writing all the information down, a picture will soon emerge and you begin to understand how to give a coherent reading from the coffee cup.
A New symbol:
What I also is do is whenever I see something that I don't understand or a symbols that I have not seen before, mentally I ask myself what does it stand for? What does that symbol mean? With practice, you will begin to get answers as to what that symbol means to you personally. So remember to ask questions mentally, and learn how to listen to the answers. This will help you to develop your own psychic awareness, and for me, this something that has changed my life. Psychic development became about spiritual development.
So, drink your coffee, interpret the symbols, but above all have fun!
Enjoy.

Stewart works with many aspects of the mind and body to connect the personality of voice with the breath of soul. As an Alchemist he enchants, encourages and empowers all that wish, enabling movement towards the Light. He describes his work explanining that
“The vibrations of our voice echo the vibrations of our bodies, and in turn echo the sounds of the natural world. Through resonance we connect with the Universe. Our voice is a means for revelation. If we become aware that we may harmonise our total being through its power, we may move from negative disenchantment into knowing what is enchanting about our lives."
In this interview, we discussed how sound is the origin of creation, what alchemy is, his work 'as an alchemist' and a 'voice doctor' and how he helped people recover from certain health conditions (or dis-ease); we also touched on issues of Voice and Persona as powerful expressions of human integrity; and how we can claim our 'signature note'.
