One horse race

And so we stumble into the end of what has been the dullest X-Factor series yet. Undoubtably, we were spoiled with last year's winner - the true international talent which is Leona - but something about this series just fell flat. Were there too many categories? Too many judges? Too many of Brian's ridiculous choreography disasters, or simply that we're not getting the calibre of potential pop stars as in previous years, making this series into more of a caberet contest than a search for a chart toppper?

However, the duets were fabulous tonight (yes even Lame Difference and Jason Donovan - the harmonies were fantastic). My favourite was Leon and Kylie's Better The Devil You Know - when you see how far Leon has come in just a few short weeks it's quite inspiring. And yes, I was fed up with his sob stories, and yes he does look like Pete Doherty, but given a choice between the teeny bopper twins and Rhydian's pop opera, I'll take Leon any day. Although I fully expect Rhydian to walk off with the crown. Let's be honest - it's been a one horse race for weeks.

Perhaps the best bit of the whole show tonight was the auditionees' number, which yet again, was totally hilarious, although I thought it was a bit unkind to bring out the overweight girl on the throne carried by semi-naked hunks - even Sharon and Dannii didn't know where to look, and I did wonder whether the singer in question realised the joke was on her?

I agree something was different this year, Louis and Simon seemed to be at each other more than usual, and with more venom, Sharon didn't seem to be remotely interested. As for the business about the final, I'm not sure Rhydian should have even been in this show, he clearly has a voice for Opera and not for what is essentially a contest to find a popstar that teenagers have pinned on their bedroom walls. In which case you would have had a final made up of Leon, Same difference and 1 other possibly Nicki? Don't get me wrong Rhydian is very good, just in the wrong place I felt. THE MAIN DEMOGRAPHIC FOR THIS SHOW IS THE TEENAGER, I'm sure 'Hope' were only voted out because they started wearing trousers and covering up! same with 'Future proof' not enough tight T shirts! Why has nobody over 30 won it ????????? With the exception of last year, the second place guy usually does better anyway!

I settled down to watch the X-Factor ,with a bottle of rose after a busy day at work. I enjoyed the show and voted for my favourite, Rydian. I honestly thought there was no contest and the best singer would pick up the prize. I drank my wine and fell asleep, missing the final song which would be the single the winner would release. I awoke slightly tipsy to see dermot saying "and the winner is"....... I thought I must of been either very drunk or still asleep when he revealed it was Leon! What a huge dissapointment!
Rydian is the only winner in my eyes and I believe he didnt win as he would have been tied into a contract. Coming second means he can do so many more things. Looking forward to seeing and hearing more from the man who should have won the competition, Rydian x
