Tonsilitis eh, not a very credible excuse, lost voice more like.  Yes, Rhydian had his training but almost everybody who makes it in pop has some form of training even if its only years of on-the-job hard graft in working men's clubs and the like.  Leon just does not have the grounding to make much of an impression in the industry, and just does not have the natural ability to rush his development.  It would have been better if he had done a lot more singing before entering XF, I would worry for him if I were his mum.  That £1m is not as attractive as it sounds as much of it will have to be spent on studio time, marketing expenses and all the other overheads attached to producing CDs.

I am neither Scottish nor Welsh - just a music lover. I've never watched the X Factor before but based on what I understood from it the winner should have been the best singer which was obviously Rhydian who has an amazing voice and is a natural and talented singer with proper training.  Leon, on the other hand, possibly has potential but he continually misses the notes. He needs training, particularly as it is difficult to ascertain whether he is singing with his own voice or imitating someone else. I felt quite devastated that Rhydian was not voted the winner because I cannot understand why the public would want to listen to someone who sings out of tune.
