Gene Meyer graduated from Parson's School of design and worked for Donna Karan at the Anne Klein studio designing accessories.He then became Geoffery Beene's design assisitant working with him for over ten years. Gene started designing his own distinctive ties and socks in 1991. He has twice won the CFDA award (American Fashion Award) for his menswear collections.
