Photoshop• Black & White

Picture from Hometown

I am constantly learning Photoshop, I try different methods/ approaches to various
techniques.  I always used the desaturated to make a photo B & W.  Mark from
Designsbymark.com & Matthew Bamberg, author of Digital Art Photography For
Dummies ... His blog- Digital Traveler, both suggested using the Channel Mixer.
Visit Matthew's blog for instructions.

I posted this photo in COLOR on my Blogspot Journal.  It was one of my first entries on that blog. Check it out in color.

Marie I prefer the black and white - it gives it a certain something. Laine xxxx

The color one is a very good photo, but I like the B/W for it's impact.   The peak of the roof line and shadows, along with the prominent clouds make for a dramatic picture.   mark

I love this one, the sky looks quite dramatic! I'll go over and check it out in colour on your blog. Jeannette.

I love the way this came out!  The sky is hypnotizing and the barn is beautiful.  Great job!

    Marie,
I've checked out and subscribed to Mark's website and free tutorials. I already have Matt's book, but haven't had time to actually read it. I also jut attended a few classes that gave some great pointers on black and white conversion. After I've had a chance to decompress and my head stops spinning, I'll send some info your way. :) Thanks so much for sharing what you're learning.
    Vicki
