At Last!
Hey you guys! It's me....Linda ! I will tell you what I am doing writing this entry, I am procrastinating! I should be packing my bag as I am off to France tomorrow to visit my dear old mate Lynne. Her husband is quite sick in hospital and I am going to keep them company for a week! I can't wait to see her, she has the throat sweets ready for our marathon chin wags! And plenty of tea bags! We will be spending most of the time in the hospital but it will be good to see them both.
I went to see mum today and she was very alert and good fun. She managed a few words, is walking a few steps again with help and soon they will try her with a zimmer frame. Alzheimers is a cruel disease indeed but my brother and I had a lovely visit today.

she leaned into Terry all sweetly for this then poked her tongue out as soon as I snapped it! lol

This was my mum and dad when I was a young teenager. I added this to show she was beautiful.
Jeanette, here are a couple of pics from our holiday in Lanzarote lol

The first pic he he!

That is Anne, we had just arrived

view from our balcony

In the dining room, the food was wonderful!

I know Im sad but I loved the melon carvings! lol

awesome!

now now ladies, I know that was a bad shot of the SEAL AND BALL but Reuben the chef wanted to be in the photo lol

There were lovely swimming pools in front of the hotel with mini man made beaches in front of them. Just over the road was the sea. In this pic you can see Los Lobos and Fuerta Ventura.

I love lizards!

This is a random photo of my old lizard Spike sitting on his water bowl where he used to bang the glass to come out

He was so cute, he loved a cuddle under my hair...anyway Im rambling...back to Lanzarote....

Thankyou for taking that Julie....maybe I could put it on a dating site lol

We paid all in and this small building was where you could go for inbetweeny snacks or drinks...ah what a life...

Reuben again and I had to wait for him to put his gloves on..poser! lol
We had a lovely lazy holiday and it flew by! I have some more interesting pictures of a day out to the market and a ranch but I am thinking about the tumble drying and packing I have to do for tomorrow morning so I had better go. I hope to put some nicer pics on before we go away again! lol ....

Lahoma
Hi folks
I know I have not been on here for a while. I have tried to keep up with your journals and still need to visit some. (yeah yeah same old record) .I intend to make an entry at the weekend when I intend to do nothing else but!!
I just had to say I went over to Lahoma's blog to see if I had missed an alert and she has passed away. I am gutted. Sadly, Kim has too, although I did not know her,she seemed a very popular lady.
I have read Lahoma's blog (Lahoma's Laments) since she was Mzgoochi of Papillon and she was such a lovely, brave lady. I have been in touch through emails until recently and sent a card when she was feeling low in hospital. I rang her once and she sounded so tiny! She had a big heart and a big sense of humour and I will miss her loads. She was on my mind at work today, and I sure will miss her and her funny emails. She had a good eye for a picture and took some interesting and funny ones on her hospital visits. I feel for her son Cameron and her partner Robert, and she was so worried about Cameron too.

Hope she's somewhere nice she deserved it. A fond farewell my dear online friend......

Trooper
Well I have been thinking about this...I am a binge blogger! I am off on holiday on Thursday and hope to come back revitalised and raring to go! I am hoping to catch up with you all before I go and see what I have been missing.
We are all very sad, because 3 weeks ago today, Rhianna's horse Trooper was put down. He was a beautiful, gentle horse and was 18 years old. Also he was very...posh! Poor Rhianna having to bravely face school (she did have one afternoon off) When I went down on the Wednesday I took two small bright green bushes and she will plant them in his favourite place in some bushes in his field. I was helping her with her homework (difficult!) and she leaned over and hugged me but she was crying...it keeps sweeping over her in waves of horror. She sure wasn't like this when Vinny the hamster died! Although upset of course, not decimated. I hate to see her pain. I could only say that sometime soon she will be able to speak about him with a smile instead of tears. I had many over him myself, he was soooo lovely.

Rhianna has this picture of him on her mug. She is going to send me some when she is online again and I will put them on to show you....
These pics are of our last hot day over the common....we were lucky!

she feeds this swan by hand...sheeesh!

so chuffed but I was so anxious I missed the action!

she wanted me to get in with her...blow that! she soon got out when I reminded her about the terrapins in there!

what a shot! with my eyesight I mean!

about halfway there now...
what else have I been up to?

I went to see Metallica at Wembley a while back

I 'pinched' this one to show you how good the new stadium is!

This is Gary, one of the friends I went with. Sil, his wife, who doesn't like the music, sent him down to mow the front grass first. I had to go and make sure he did it properly! he he!

babysitting Star. she is terrified of this air raid shelter but has to investigate it!

is it following me??

I wasn't close enough behind her. she's such a poof!
Well, I will stop now as I have TERROR of boring you! lol

Again
Jan and Morgan you have already read this bit before I accidentally deleted it whilst chatting on the phone to my deaf Auntie Wendy! so thanks! lol
Zoe, please forgive my ignorance in not replying to your kind offer of helping out with my car problem! It was just a totally dead battery from leaving the lights on for an entire day! It took a day and a night to recharge the battery! sheeeesh!
As I am trapped indoors and all good intentions of being a domestic goddess have gone out the window I will just add a couple more bits and pieces before I disappear again! lol I had to WALK down the shop this morning! It took me at least 5 minutes to get there as well!
When I put the pics of Rhianna on just now they were in 'my pictures' next to some old ones I took when I treated her to a night in a nearby hotel for her birthday and thought I would just put a couple more pics on here. I actually quite like the way AOL have done their adding pics now! phew! did I say something nice about AOL? These were taken in March.

a few pressies just opened!

don't know why I took that! it was nice though!

admiring the view from our room! lol

I know I don't get out much but I have never seen a pillow menu before!

she loves Jack Skeleton (Nightmare before Christmas) he was new!

we dressed up for dinner

aw a new top from her mums friend

that was a starter!

those 3 dishes in front of me were a starter I had as a main meal luckily!

The blanket still goes everywhere with her and used to be her dads!

playing with camera!
We had a good time there and are going to do it again on her next birthday...we spent a lot of time in the swimming pool and jacuzzi, it was lovely!
Then I have really good news that my eldest son, Doz, in Southampton has got engaged to his girlfriend, Caroline. She has hoped for something small and sparkly for the last two Christmas's! Then they went away for a weekend in Brussells and she hoped that was the reason but it wasn't! aw...Anyway he rang me and told me he was going to propose the next evening which was a Saturday, if he didn't lose his nerve! He had the ring for about 6 weeks! He took her to a restaurant they had never used before and when she rang me to tell me Doz had proposed she said because the waiter knew his name she thought he had been there with someone else! He had popped in the day before to book it. When Caroline looked back at the earlier evening she said he had behaved differently, a cigarette...rare!...a glass of wine before they left...rare! he he! He was so nervous. They are both excited now, it is lovely. He is my first of 3 sons to get married. So they are going to get married next May and I can't wait! But at the end of this month us parents are getting together to talk about it...so there is me...Carolines mum, oh and my ex husband and his wife...hmmm...I get on alright with her...say no more but let us just say poor Doz is worried about it! lol We are adults and can bear each other for a couple of hours Im sure...I hope!
Before I go, I wonder if any of you have the time, if you would pop over and say hello to these two ladies. They are both very funny and I enjoy their blogs...ta! Lindaxx

The blank blogger
I have been sat here for what seems like ages, wondering how to begin! The longer I leave it the harder it is to write something! Well, I have been off work for almost two weeks, it started with a bad throat and ended up with a chest infection. I was a bit worried at first because we are really hectic at work, then I thought...sod it! I don't get paid enough to worry! lol I am off tomorrow and then go back on Tuesday but I have to have a blood test and a cardiograph yet. I felt too ill to go earlier in the week!
I am going on holiday at the end of October with my dear friends Julie and Anne. We always spend a few days together a couple of times a year and this time Julie suggested a foreign holiday! I cannot wait. We are going to Lanzarote and are going to be extremely lazy! I will just add a couple of photos of the last time we visited Anne in Lincoln...we did the usual thing, shopping, chatting, eating, chatting, it's funny we are never short of anything to say! We had had several drinks in most of the photos and eventually got to bed around 4am. I was sleeping with Julie and Anne was in the other room, there was a chorus of 'goodnight' going on and as we started to settle Julie said...''night Anne bob'' and it gave us the giggles for ages, resulting in JULIE being told off by Anne! lol

Hmm they didn't look that blurry at the time! Anne and myself always complain that Julie takes a good pic every time and we don't. She said look down...then look up...then it will come out ok...this is the result...

Wegot new hair clips...but when we took our eyes off Julie for a mo...

Julie you could get a whole swarm of butterflies on that chest!

We have such a laugh, I can't wait for our holiday!

erratic
Hi everyone! It's the most unreliable blogger on AOL! Talk about erratic! I have been very busy and just wanted to say I haven't forgotten you, just been a wee bit harassed!
On my last entry...waaaay back, I was going to look at a new car. Well, I got there and the bloke selling it was having a laugh to say the least! It was a minging old Escort and he hadn't even cleaned it. It was a totally different colour to the nice shiny pic he had online. I was peeved to say the least. I would have been less embarassed driving mine! Although it did have mirrors! Anyway on the way there (well outside my sons local) there was a Rover 600 for sale, so we stopped off to have a look at that and ended up buying it. Dean got him down a bit on the price but we were still £35 short as I had reached my cashpoint limit until the next day. So we leaned over the pub fence and collected the rest off a couple of Deans friends! what a pair of pikeys! he he! So thanks to Dillon and Alan I took it home that night. Well, after my old 1.4 escort which had been labouring a while I all but got whiplash when I first drove this one! It's 2 litre injection so a tad faster. Much more fun going to work now......BUT....tonight it would not start. 3 of the fellas at work and me were in the pouring rain for an hour! sheeesh! Two of them had nice shirts and trousers on as they worked in the office and the other one and me just jeans and t shirts. We were soaked. I bet they will be glad when I retire! I think I have somehow knocked the immobiliser on as it was dead completely. So Dean came and got me and tomorrow its the b****y bus and 2 trains again! I hope my boss will suss it out she is a whizz with cars and bikes, we all ask her bless her!
I must return the nine quid bottle of metallic green t-cut I was going to treat my escort to!
I suppose I should go to bed as I have an early start in the morning...grrr! As I am so behind with you all I will have to cheat and just read the last couple of entries you have made until I catch up AGAIN!
Also I did have another entry on here but accidentally deleted it but unusually for me I had done a copy first so Jan you will have read it already! I was trying to edit a spelling mistake whilst talking to my auntie Wendy on the phone...she is very deaf and I had waited patiently for her to switch her hearing aid to 'phone' then waited for all the beeping and whistling this made and I have to literally shout and she doesn't hear! I know it sounds mean but it is very difficult! I had left a message on her answer phone saying I could not take her to see mum that night because my car was dead...and she kept asking how my arm was and wasn't hearing my answer! She thought my arm was dead! I could feel tension building in me and was trying not to let it show in my voice and deleted my entry! how I chuckled...NOT! Anyway I have finished whinging for tonight, hope to read some of yours by the end of the week, nitey nite, Linda xx

weekend
Hello everyone, how are you all? I am quite pleased with myself as I think I have been keeping up with you (unless I have not had some alerts) In fact now I have said that I will check my side bar after this! Just in case!
I am home today because of my car grrrr! It just died on me and I had a mechanic look at it at the weekend as he had booked it in for an mot on Wednesday. Well, what can I say, he was very kind about it all! It would need loads of welding as the door (sills or seals) have rusted through, the wheel arches and underneath too! I have an oil leak underneath. ( I thought the mess under my bonnet was where I missed with the oil, how naieve) I would need an alternator and the hand brake doing. The list just grew and grew. He advised me that I could get a run around for less than I would have to spend on the work needed and he could not guarantee how long it would last. boo hoo! So I have been online looking at the auto trader and found one I am to look at tomorrow evening. sheeesh! I always have something going wrong. I also wonder how long my mirrors will last on it! I may have to fit it up so it electrocutes people at night! So tomorrow, it will be a walk, bus, walk, train, walk train, walk and Im there, a doddle!
Anyway that is my whinge of the day done.Friday night I unexpectedly had Emily as Dean had forgotten he had an engagement party. He picked her up in the morning. we walked down the Chinese in the evening where she ordered crispy duck pancakes, special fried rice and prawn crackers. She really should not know her takeaways that well!
Rhianna came Saturday morning until Sunday night I offered to take her bowling and buy her lunch but she preferred to go over the common by us. We decided to ignore the rain and went over there twice, and there were still other people as mad as us over there! But we had a lovely time and she still did not want to go home. Sharon, her mum had to pick her up because of the car. We had dried out by then as we came back looking like drowned rats the 2nd time!

Rhianna is 12 now and although she is very grown up and sensible, she could not resist these balloon water bombs! We took them over the common and found a good target for practice! lol

weekend
Well it has been a lovely weekend hasn't it??? It just went so quickly! I did not do too much on Saturday, just took some things to Deans house and did a bit of shopping. I have really missed him and the bundle of trouble called Star. We ate dinner together tonight and Star would not leave my side! I think she misses her nan too! he he!
Today I took my auntie Wendy to visit mum. The round trip is 71 miles! Mum was so tired she couldn't keep her eyes open. She looked really tiny and scrunched up in the chair. She is well looking though. The lady who is in charge of the carers said all the residents had been sleeping a lot because of the weather. They were constantly trying to get them all to drink lots. I took a couple of pics but did not take one of mum as she was not really with it and it felt mean!
Just arrived view from entrance at the side by car park
pretty roundabout
When I got back to Wendys house I went in and had a cup of tea and piece of cake and we walked round her garden. She picked me some flowers which I can smell as I am typing this. I have them by my computer as I am here a lot! (yes yes I know I am sad!)
I tried to get different angles on her garden. It it really long and goes right the way round the side of the house...It is massive and she does it all by herself. She has divided it up into different little areas with small paths for weeding! I think she is marvellous as she is 81 on Tuesday!
Anyway it was a nice pleasant weekend and I hope you all enjoyed yours too!

peace!
Well, today, Dean and Star are moving out...Dean has put his house up for sale and his tenants have left now so he is moving in there with his friend Rob. He sure needs to be a lot tidier if people are going to view his house! But wisely he has asked the estate agent to make appointments (so they can rush around and tidy up!) lol
Now the thing is....
Do I feel......
Or...............
Or......................
Hmmmmmm I think we all know the answer don't we! lol
Love him though I do....
I just went into the garden earlier and discovered this!.......
This appears to be the remains of a brand new bag of potting compost, mostly over my path! Now who could the perpetrator of this heinous crime be I wonder! There is a clue in the right hand side of the pic...a purple fluffy toy... I somehow do not think it is Pepsi my 14 year old cat so that leaves.......
Hmmmmmm
