At War with Willow!
Hi, Jake here,
At last I`ve been able to get Sandra away from the computer so I can tell you all about.....( I can hardly say it)....the cat next door! I`ve been betrayed and almost outsmarted by that creature. One day it was just me and the local feline population who, as you`d expect, kept their distance from me. Then along comes Willow (daft name for a boy of you ask me!) and everything has changed. Each day he sits on the adjoining fence and just looks at me while I go crazy and bark myself hoarse. I`m sure the fluffy furbag only does it to annoy me without even giving me the chance of chasing him, life can be very hard....sigh.
The thing about Willow is that he`s pretty enough to be a girl and even worse, my dad (Jim) is always picking him up and cuddling him, thank goodness mum isn`t all that interested. There is a chance however that said furbag may just disappear from our lives. He keeps trying to jump into mum`s car, perhaps she`ll drive him away and leave him somewhere....I can live in hope!
I can`t even go to my usual parks at the moment either. The back field where I used to have my daily runs has been bought by property developers and they are building new houses on the site now. I can`t go to Black Park as there are Foot and Mouth restrictions are in place there so dad thinks it`s best to avoid it until they are lifted. For the time being we are going to Upton Park, a boring place if there was ever one . No squirrels to chase or trees to run through, just a wide expanse of grass, no fun for a dog I can tell you!
Mum is acting really oddly these days...her and her orchids, I heard her talking to them this morning...now if I had a chance I`d chew them up and be done with it....hehehe. Also I heard her use language that I think must be Anglo Saxon this morning.....I don`t see why she was so upset, so the freezer had defrosted and ruined all the food, it`s no big deal, my food is in tins so why worry.
I won`t be seeing my little mate Roman today, Kerry and Slava have taken him to a birthday party in Rotherham, Yorkshire, quite a trek from here but as they have a new car at least it should be more comfortable than the old model. Talking of cars mum`s been lucky with the weather and her car ius completely dry, though she`s taking no chances and has covered it up as looks a bit like rain.
Oh well, I`ll say goodbye to Mum`s friends and a big Woof to all you J-Land dogs....and cats (nothing personal, it`s the one next door I don`t like!). :o)

This was sad in a way Jake but you are a lovely doggy and you made me laugh too which is what I love to do.How did you know? I think you must be a very intellegent dog to have known that..Woof Woof.I hope that pesky cat finds somwhere else to sit and I also hope it doesn't jump over the fence, when you are all out on your walk and leave your Mum Sandra a present in the dirt Grrrrrrrrr.I had a blacky that used to jump in my garden and he was a pest, he always left me a present.Do you know he used to try and hide it too under the dirt and all the dirt was scattered everywhere.I don't like cats doing that Grrrr.Sorry you are not enjoying your walkies as much.Tell your mum sandra to stop using that anglo saxon launguage in front of you it's awful Woof Woof.He-He !!OH!! good grief I hope if the freezer has defrosted it didin't wet all your lovely furr.Your food in tins ah! well then you are ok.Right thankyou for telling us about your neighbour Jake.I'll be back soon to read more of your exciting life, and that silly MUm of yours who talks to her plants and users differant language from us haaaaa. Why Hello Jake, Pickles here. You should try living with 4 of the pesty creatures in your home. My mom is pretty good at sharing with all of us, but I want her all to myself sometimes (puts her paw over her nose and sniffles). Yes, I know I'm being a bit of a brat, Mom saved me too just like the others. Sorry about your favorite parks being off limits hon. Mom takes me in the woods by our house, I love it, there are squirrels galour all over, woodchucks, and guess what, bet you can't guess what's coming around now? Give up? A family of deer, I want to go chase them but Mom says be nice, they come to eat the crab apples off our trees. I do have one feline friend though. Here name is Foxy, she comes up and rubs noses with me, she is pretty cool, she doesn't like the other cats either. Mom says to tell your Mom Hi! (As if they don't do that enough on the computer). Oh, before I forget, I have to go to the vet in a few weeks, Mom thinks I'm having trouble seeing close up. It's really something having these humans love and worry over us isn't it? (Hugs) Pickles

Hello Jake, Patches here and I am with you on keeping cats chased away. The black one next door is in fenced yard and she is not afraid of me because she has two dog pals in her yard. That doesn't keep me from barking at her though when I see her. I hope your walking area is soon declared disease free so you can get back out and chase those squirrels away. That is one of my jobs here and I love it. Patches

Hello Jake, Salty here. That is ruff having a pesky cat on the fence and him getting attention from Jim is just wrong. My master has been worried about me since a week ago I was yelping and distressed (all night) over an area that he feels me around and may need to take me to the Veterinarian for what humans call a hernia. Mark here, Salty was checked by the Veterinarian for a hernia and he could not feel one but I am feeling a swelling and poor Salty is having longer periods of pain but they only happen infrequently. Thanks for visiting my journal and I am spending every moment thinking about finishing what I can this year on my building project. At this point it is causing me a lot of stress with the expense and still heat forecast for tomorrow. I am not someone that should be doing this kind of work with my back pain and am having a lot of trouble sleeping. So, from me and Salty, wishing Jake and you a pleasant fall. mark

I understand how you feel about that cat. Ewww. I'm not fond of them either. My little Westie would be chasing him and would join you in the barking if she were there!
Hope you get an exciting walk soon and good luck with the cat patrol!
Hugs, Kathy
