Feeling Loopy

Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs!!!

Hello Again!

I wish I were on some warm beach somewhere instead of stuck indoors away from the snow, hail and rain, here in the Lakes.

We have had some really howling wind and rain recently with horizonal blown snow.  It blew straight up our hill and past the window at a rare rate of knotts.  I have never seen such strong winds.   Brrrr!

You should have seen the poor sheep on the fells as I drove to work on Thursday.  They were all fluffed up, as though they had been washed and tumble dried from all the rain and wind that they have had to put up with recently. They looked like Giant French Poodles after they have had a cut and blow dry.  Lol!

Fluffy ladies of the fells...they looked beautiful!   Lol!

Well...the white heather, primroses, snowdrops and bellis are flowering away in the garden, so there are some living species prepared to turn their little faces and heads into this dreadful weather.

Me?  I'm in front of the log burner getting corned beef legs.  Lol!  That's the place for me.

On Monday of this week my car went ga-ga.  I was driving off to collect Bryan from the village when I noticed I had no speedometer and all the lights were on on the dashboard.  It was lit up like Christmas. Even though I pulled over and switched off the ignition, nothing went out.  Everything stayed lit or connected.  Or so it seemed.

I panicked and came home to phone the garage who could only book me in for the following Wednesday.

That was no good as I had my six monthly check up with my oncology surgeon thirty mile away on Tuesday at 11.30am.

My neighbour said he would take me there. He also took me to some of my chemotherapy appointments, bless him, so didn't mind coming to the rescue this time either.  Thank God for good neighbours.

Anyway...he once worked for the firm I bought my car from so he got in touch with the Service Department for me, where one of the mechanics told him to switch off my battery for ten minutes, then put it back on again.

Seemingly this one act should unscrambled the computer on-board and everything should go back to normal, if its not a real fault.

In the pouring rain he did this for me on Tuesday morning and voila!  It all came back to normal again.  He saved me repairs bills at the garage the next day.  Another big thank you went his way.

As it turned out my appointment, Dippy Dora me, was for the Monday not the Tuesday, so I was abolutely distraught at missing it through my own stupidity.  Don't ask me what was in my mind to think that way, for I do not have a clue!  I had it written on the callender for Monday, and on my little card the hospital unit gives me. Do I look at it properly?  NO!

I took a look at ten minutes to ten that morning when my neighbour was due to come and collect me at ten, to give us an hour for the journey and to get through the Lancaster City traffic.  I couldn't belive what I had done!

I was so shocked at missing it.

When I rang up the Breast Care Unit they were so understanding and gave me another one for the 11 February.  I will double check this time for sure before I go again.  What am I like?

Sorry not to have been entering my journal this week.  I have had a return of my styes.  They haven't really gone properly so I had to get some more ointment for them.  Its a blessed nuisance as they are so irritating when sat at the computer.  It seems to dry them up and make them worse.  I just popped in and out to read the odd journals and leave comments.

I suppose if the truth were known I was a bit down in the dumps too for missing such an important appointment.

Well folks...that was a quick catch-up from me to you.

Hope the weather has been kinder to yourselves.

Stay well, dry and warm.

Photo taken in my garden in the Spring.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Much love...

I'm glad your car was so easy to fix, but I'm so sorry you missed your doctor's appointment.  I hate when I do something like that!  Glad to see you posting.

Just a quick Hello!, as I struggle on. I will get into this PC but...prefer my old one. I'm so slow in acknowledging your mail of yesterday. Will look at your suggestion later....I've just signed on, to see if everything is as I left it (lol)
Sorry about your eyes, I can appreciate how you feel! as others have said, are you a little run down, or trying to do too much?
long time since I heard the expression 'Corned beef legs'.
Allan is out amongst the sheep in Derbyshire this morning!
