The naming of the kitty

OK, IT LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE A NAME FOR MY LITTLE GREY PUSS, PLEASE WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Shadow

It was said in jest last week because he tends to follow everyone around, my little shadow, and it stuck, but I don't mind, he is so cute and fluffy, (which was mentioned as a name as well lol), so thats that lol.

At what point in your kids lives do you decide that enough is enough and they have to really just get on with it, over the last six months Daniel, our eldest at 23, has managed to completeley cock things up, to the point that he has no job, no car, (he wrote it off), he's upset his grandparents so much they won't help him anymore, so we paid for a flight for him to 'come home', in the week before he comes down here, he's in northeast Scotland, he meets a girl who he decides is the love of his life, cue lots of phone calls and texting and gnashing of teeth because he wants to be there and not here, all this is after a very acrimonious split from his ex Tasha, who we thought was pregnant at the beginning of the year.

Anyway, two weeks ago, we booked a flight for him to go back to Aberdeen, through a series of circumstances, he didn't get to the airport in time and missed his flight, ok, no-ones actual fault, so we book him another last minute flight, this time from Southampton, for last Saturday, leaving at 10.25am, we dropped him off at 9am, with instructions to ring once he got to Aberdeen, we poodled off, went to spend the day in Weymouth, had just got to the carpark by the pier, when my phone goes, it's Daniel, some how, don't ask me how, he had missed the flight, well I went nuclear, how can you miss a flight from an airport the size of a hanky, no disrespect to southampton but hey!!!!, I really think he expected me to be sympathetic, didn't like it when I started cussing down the phone and hung up on me, cheeky so n so.

We made him wait at the airport for three hours before we were calm enough to go and pick him up, in between I went into an internet cafe to see how much another flight out would cost for the next day, a bloody fortune, so I did the next best thing and booked him a seat on the national express coach which let at 04.50 the next morning, Charlotte took him to the bus stop and even made sure that he got on the bus, the only other place that could have been a problem was the 3 hour stop over in Victoria station London, but he managed to get on it, god kids, lol

I think I may be due to have a major barny at work shortly, last year I reduced my hours and stopped working in the afternoons, mainly because I was looking after Ciaran, now that I'm not doing that I asked a few months ago that if a section became available in the afternoons could I start working again, bearing in mind I've worked there for 7 years, but for our present employers since last April, my supervisor said it wasn't a problem but she would have to get the go ahead from Ellen, the area manager, well, she said no, when asked why, we were told that because I already work a couple of hours in the morning they would prefer the job to go to an outside applicant because they have to pay too much employers national insurance, we quiried this and it was confirmed, but, and this is where it gets sticky, there are five other cleaners who have started with doing only two hours and then asked to take on other sections as they have become available, making them up to 4 or 6 hours a day, in one case 10 hours, which is what I have done and they have been given them with no trouble whatsoever, so when the week before a cleaner left unexpectedley I was offered the section I took it, now the area manager doesn't know yet because she has been on holiday, she is due back Monday, and I think things are going to kick off.

On Monday I'm going to ring ACAS, and ask their advise, as I do feel I'm being treated unfairly by the area manager, I will let you know

Take care

Kerry

Feeling Surprised

Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s been months and months since I’ve been on here, mostly because we had to reformat the pc when it crashed a few months ago and I couldn’t seem to get back on, but thanks to zoe (mwah! Honey) leaving me a comment, here I am lol xx

Danny

Well! So much has happened I don’t know where to start, I think it must be with Danny, as my last post in January, blimey!!!!, was about him and Tasha, unfortunately it wasn’t to be, at the beginning of may he phoned me to tell me that they were having problems and could he fly down and spend a week with us to ‘get his head together’, he duly came down and it was obvious as the week went on that she had lost interest, we told him to prepare himself, what we weren’t prepared for was what a cow she turned out to be, when he flew back (he lives in north eastern Scotland) she was staying at her mums and had locked the flat up, with all his clothes and possessions inside, the poor little sod walked around for three weeks in the clothes he stood up in, sofa surfing, until she relented and let him get some stuff, mostly just clothes, then he flew back here again.

His granddad went to the police to see if they could force her to let Dan in but they said there was nothing they could do as it was a domestic dispute, he explained that Danny had been threatened with a kicking by the girl’s dad but they still were not interested, makes you wonder why we pay so much for this ‘public service’.

Anyway Danny seems ok now, he’s been chatting to a girl called Tracy who he met just before he came back down so hopefully he’ll chalk it up to experience

Holiday

Our holiday was fantastic, it seems like it was last year lol, will try and post some pics, hang on lol

Barbados, from the top deck

Isla Margarita, Venezuala, early morning, our first stop

Anse chastenet St Lucia, paradise, a mile or so away from the Pitons

Pitons from the speedboat that took thirty of us there, we had 2 litres of rum there and another two on the way back, plus cocktails at Anse chastenet, fantastic day lol

On our way into Tortola harbour

Caribbean blue

Cane garden bay, swimming, sunshine, cocktails, what more could a girl want lol

Dominica, doesn't this look atmospheric, this really was a proper rain forest island, very pretty, we stopped for a drink in this shop that had snake rum, it actually had a dead snake in the bottle, I didn't drink any, yeuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I hope everyone is fine, I'll try not to leave it so long

Kerry

Feeling Hopeful

Thank you

Thank you for your good wishes, Tasha had a scan yesterday, and they think that there may be a chance that she is still pregnant, they seem to think that she was carrying triplets, OMG!!, and that although she has suffered a miscarriage it may not have been all the babies, we have to wait a couple of weeks to let things settle down and then do another scan, so there is still some hope.

Danny said his jaw hit the deck when they said she had been carrying triplets, I wish I had been there lol, they are coming down in February just after we get back off holiday to stay for a week or so, see how we all get on because Dan wants to come back home, see how it goes.

I would like you all to meet Roxxi

She is the little madam that's made life interesting for the last two weeks, but isn't she lovely, Ciaran adores her, I got in from work this morning to find that Paul hadn't shut her in the dining room, she'd ragged a book to pieces and left two deposits for me, so will be having words with him later lol.

It's like having a toddler running around with no nappy on that speaks a different language lol

Anyway, I hope you are all fine

Hearing linkin park hybrid theory

Danny, Chaz and Simon in a nutshell lol xx

Its been all go here the last week or so, Charlotte came to the momentous decision to finish with her boyfriend last week, as you know we had a rotten christmas day because they did nothing but argue, so she told him it was over, it’s not the first time, it came to a head a couple of months ago but he convinced her that things would change, he would get a job and go out more and be a bit more positive, he’s known for his moaning!, but nothing has changed, so she pulled the plug

It’s not an easy decision because they have lived together, but I think she is a lot happier in herself now, Jon has gone back to live where he was when they met, hopefully he won’t be hurt for too long, I thought he was ok

As for number one son it looks like he is going to be a dad, and there is the distinct possibility it may well be twins, they run on our side as well as Tasha’s and she is already showing, OMG!!!!!!! Lol.

Danny is talking about coming back here to live, I think that he is feeling too isolated up there, she doesn’t get much back up from her family and he knows that we will do everything we can to support them the same as we have for Charlotte, maybe by March, we’ll see xx

Simon did something really stupid two weeks ago, he was picked up by a ‘friend’ in his car, they went for a drive that took them to most of Berkshire and Hampshire, along with three other kids, one of whom is only 13, and it wasn’t until the driver crashed into a wall that he found out that it was actually stolen, by this time it was too late and they were arrested, I got a phone call at 12.45am, he was locked up in the cells for near on 20 hours before he was released on bail, he has to go back on the 30th to find out if he is going to be charged with anything even though he didn’t know it was stolen, the least he will get is a caution, stupid sod!!!!

Well we are on countdown now, 19 days before we go on holiday, we went to London on Wednesday to renew Paul’s passport, £114.00 for the same day service, blimey o riley lol, they know how to charge lol

Anyway I hope you are all keeping well, I will try to catch up with all your blogs this week, take care

Kerry

Hearing Peace, perfect peace lol

OMG!

Well that’s that over and done with for another year lol

As you may remember our eldest son has been living in Scotland for the past 18 months, with his grandparents, he went up there to sort his life out as he was being sucked into a very bad one here in the south.

Seven months ago he told me that he had a girlfriend, her name was Emma, they came down in October and I must admit I was surprised because although she was a nice person she wasn’t Danny’s type, she was quite bossy and his g-parents found her very rude, then about a month ago he said that he was thinking of finishing with her as he had met someone else, a mutual friend of a friend sort of thing, after a week or so of dithering he eventually told Emma bye bye, this was two weeks before Christmas, bless him, and that’s when he bought his new girlfriend into the limelight, enter Natasha, he introduced her to the g- parents, who think she is lovely, g-dad loves her Scottish accent lol.

Then he confesses to me that Tasha has a six month old baby boy, ok, well these things happen, anyway things have been going swimmingly for them for the last month, and then Danny phones me last week to tell me that he thinks that his brand new girl friend may be pregnant!, she has taken two tests that seem to confirm it, but has yet to go to the doctors, cue some very intense conversations online and over the phone, the upshot is that he has never felt this way about anyone and has decided to propose on her birthday at the end of this month, soooo like his dad, it’s almost a replay of Paul and I getting together lol

How do I feel about all of this, surprised and a little bit helpless, they are so far away, the thought of having a son and grandchild that far away is hard to deal with, I like being a hands on nan, of course the other thing is her baby will only be 13 months old when this one is born, that’s going to be hard, especially as Tasha is training to be a nurse as well, god, kids, who’d have them lol.

Sit back and see how things play out I suppose

Am getting excited now, we go on holiday five weeks today, we have to go to the quacks tomorrow for anti malaria jabs and a few others as well, not looking forward to that.

Hope you are all well and that you’ve had a nice start to the New Year

Feeling Quiet

fangs and claws

It would appear that we have a bit of a feline war going on here at the moment, our lodger, Ness, has bought her male, 6 month old cat here to live, as you know we already have three cats, two females and a male.

Well, Simba, my big golden Burmese, is so laid back that after a week, they are getting on great, nose to nose, sniffing and following each other around, Bonnie, my little old lady, just ignores him, so beneath her dignity don’t you know, except when he, Gizmo, tries to get too close then she’ll give out a small warning growl, but Molly, my precious little Abyssinian, you would think we had the feline version of jack the ripper in the house, she hisses, spits, launches herself at him with claws flying and tail all puffed up, bless him he only wants to play lol.

But we are shortly going to upset the applecart even more in a few weeks because we are getting a puppy, how Molly will cope with that remains to be seen, but I bet it’s going to be fireworks lol

We are getting a nine week old Staffordshire bull terrier, a girl, that’s on the 24th January, we will be able to enjoy her for about two weeks, then we go on holiday, brilliant planning I hear you say lol. But it has come about all at the last minute, the pup we are getting is the pick of the litter that was chosen by someone before she was born, unfortunately for them they’ve had to back out, so in steps Paul who says, that’s ok we’ll have her then, I’ve wanted a dog for ages!!!!!!!!, news to me but then us wives normally are the last to know lol, so watch this space.

Have got over my chrismas woe now and chalked it up to experience, what else can you do lol, so I went shopping yesterday and bought loads of racy underwear, I love the sales this time of year, am going to try to get some designer sunglasses but don’t think im going to have much luck lol

Its only six weeks before we go on holiday, it seems like ages yet but I know it will go really fast, I have to go to the doctors as soon as they open next week to find out what sort of jabs we need, ooooh can’t wait lol xx. We had our flight confirmation through the other day, we are flying with Thomas Cook, have never flown with them before so don’t know what they are like, we leave Gatwick at 09.45, have to be there three hours before so its going to be a long day, but oh so worth it lol

Not sure whether to take suitcases or holdalls, its an informal cruise so don’t have to take lots of fancy clothes, mainly loose, cool clothes that wash and dry easily, and a pair of good shoes, every time we went away last year, I took plenty of sandals etc, but no good walking shoes.

Anyway I hope you have a good day, have to go and calm Molly down, fangs drawn at ten paces going on here lol

Feeling Chillin'
Hearing flog it

my christmas woe

I hope that all of you have had a lovely Christmas, that Santa was very good to you, and that you weren’t caught up in the royal mail delivery cock up, we were, Paul bought me an Ipod nano, apparently its on its way lol

I must admit we’ve had better Christmases before, I think this is one that is going to be remembered for a while, families together for weddings, funerals and Christmas, avoid lol

Our daughter has been seeing her fella for a year this month, but I think she needs to decide whether she wants to stay with him, after the day we had yesterday I don’t think that she even likes the lad, let alone loves him enough to live with him for the rest of her life; they did nothing but argue, mostly because he had a couple of pints down the pub, which we all did, then came back here and he started to fall asleep, ok it was on the floor, but we weren’t bothered, he had been up most of the night with Ciaran, who has a cold, so if he needed a nap then let him, but Charlotte couldn’t leave him be, which resulted in them having a row and him storming out, cue sullen silence from daughter, in the end I went out to find him, he was sat at the park, we chatted for ten minutes until I told him to come in, as dinner was nearly ready, walking back across the grass I commented on how wet it was, well with that upsadaisy down I went, hard on my tush in the mud lol, was laughing so much couldn’t stand up, got covered in mud, but it helped cheer things up so that was ok.

Things were going much better when a mini disaster struck, we had just finished dinner, it was about 4pm by this time, and the electric went, we are on the prepayment meter, that’s ok we’ll go and put the emergency on til the morning we think, go in the garage to put it in only to find out that it WAS the emergency, it turned out that someone had put it on days before and in all the rushing around we had forgotten to get it topped up, double DOH!!!!

So then we spend the next two hours looking for a paypoint on xmas day, eventually find one in a town 15 miles away, perfect end to a perfect day, you know what they say about sods law lol

The thing is though, we have never been in this situation at this time of year before, we’ve always remembered to top up, but if you do find yourself in this situation there is NO help, there is not one person anywhere that can tell you where you can find a paypoint open, in the end we had to drive around until we found one, but what would happen if you can’t, if you are stuck at home with small children or are elderly. Apparently garages won’t keep the thingy for topping up because they make no profit from it, but Paul remembered last night that years ago you could go to the old S.E.B shop and there would be a machine on the wall outside it where you could at least top up the emergency, Why can’t you top up onto a smart card the same way as you can for phone credit, it would be so much easier.

And to top it all I’ve had a really heavy head cold for the last week

Anyway, that’s my rant over, thank you for listening and getting this far lol, and Ciaran had a fabulous day, bless him, it was all for him anyway xx
