Gary 'Curry Cat' Guthrie

A GROUP of men have denied the murder of Gary "Curry Cat" Guthrie.

Courtney Hutchinson, 23, Simon Rhodes-Butler, 31, Junior Cameron, 26, Michael Wabara, 23, Ashley Thomas, 20, Darrell Albert, 27, all pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr Guthrie and the attempted murder of his friend Rowan Williams at the Old Bailey on Friday.

A seventh man, Nathan Cross, 27, did not enter a plea.

Mr Guthrie, 35, of Lakeview Road, West Norwood, was gunned down in Streatham High Road in the early hours of Monday, October 22 last year.

Judge Gerald Gordon QC set a trial date for January 26 next year.

Rhodes-Butler and Cameron, of no fixed address; Hutchinson, of Christchurch Road, Tulse Hill; Thomas, of Coalville Terrace, Ladbrook Grove; Albert, of no fixed address; and Cross, of Chryssell Road, Kennington, were remanded in custody.

Wabara, of Risley Avenue, Tottenham, was released on conditional bail.
