We have an idea!

We’d like to work together with others in the community to produce a friendly and informative Welcome Pack for new neighbours moving into Kennington.  It could also contain news to some who have lived or worked here for years but remain unaware of the many of the delights of our neighbourhood.

Our thinking is that this could be handed out by estate agencies, housing associations, tenants and management organisations, residents’ associations – anyone who wanted to be involved.  Copies could also be left in the local libraries, doctors’ surgeries, etc.

We could consider inviting local businesses, restaurants, services, etc to advertise in the pack to help with funding.

There could be sections about local theatre and arts, local sport and fitness activities, and so on.  How about a section on our fascinating local history?

We could invite local voluntary and charitable organisations to provide information about what they do, and we could even include membership forms in the back pocket of the pack.

As we say, it’s just an idea at this stage.  Are you interested?  Do you have any other ideas about how this might be developed?  Would you like to get involved with a subgroup to make it happen?
