A PAEDOPHILE who posed as a 17-year-old in an inter-net chatroom and abducted a young girl has been jailed.

John Young,of Ebenezer House, Kennington Lane, Kennington, was given 10 years in prison at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday.

Young,50, travelled to King's Lynn, Norfolk,in November and took a 15-year-old girl to a garage in the capital where he tried to assault her but she was found after family raised the alarm.

Norfolk cops also linked him to the grooming when users of a chatroom became disturbed by Young's behaviour and raised the alarm.

He admitted seven counts of making indecent images of children, two of grooming a child for sexual offences,one of abducting a child and one of incitement to rape. Young was put on the sex offenders' register and given an order banning him from using the internet or being in the company of any child without an appropriate adult present.
