Hearing OUR COMMUNITY STADIUM
What a surprise! I never saw that one coming. Never in a month of Sundays would I have expected our borough council to use public funds to build a new football stadium for a privately owned company. Yet that is what has happened. I would never have expected them to dupe the public by saying that it would be a community stadium but, when the stadium was built, to take the community bit away and have it solely for the use of the said privately owned company, with no public use allowed. Excuse me for suspecting that this whole enterprise has been about building houses on the Layer Road site, where the financial kickbacks are the driving force. The whole thing stinks in my opinion.
