Skin and Blister!
Hello
Auntie Pat, Mum's favourite skin and blister is on her way to visit us tomorrow. She lives in Birmingham and is coming by train to stay for a whole week....yipeee..... i am sooooo pleased as it will be such a good tonic for Mum. We are keeping it a surprise, mainly because if Mum knows her sister is coming she will have me cleaning the bungalow from top to toe!! we live in a small cosy bungalow and there is not enough room for dust to lay idle (yeah right!) Everywhere is clean and tidy, crikey how much mess can there be when i am at work and Mum is in bed all day........ now if Tris was at home you would think his entire squadron had come home with him!!! Mum and Pat are really like two peas in a pod they will so enjoy being with each other and i am going to try and use this opportunity to get them talking about old times (i shall use my tape recorder to get it all down) - reminder to self: buy batteries..... well you know what happens don't you :o) My Auntie Pat is the one in the family that knows everything about everyone, its such fun getting her to talk about old times. And i do want to record as much family history as possible, i find it fascinating..... i get my love of history from my father....... he has been on my mind a lot lately and this last week when i was at home it felt like there was someone else besides Mum and i in the bungalow.....you think someone is standing behind you kind of feeling.....you think you see something move out of the corner of your eye.....i'm sure its my Dad, he is here to comfort and look after me, i just feel it. Anyway i'm feeling tired, i've had a few late nights this week and i think its catching up on me.
Nighty nite :o)
PS i just had a thought - Helen and you Mark (being overseas readers of my blog) may not understand the term 'skin and blister' its rhyming slang for 'sister', people that lived in London and born within the sound of Bow Bells (which was a church) were known as Cockneys and they spoke rhyming slang..... another example is: up the apple and pears=stairs....... tho i remember when i was a child my father (who was a yorkshire man) would say to my brothers and i at bedtime... 'c'mon kids up the wooden hill' !!! I expect i have done nothing but confuse you now ....lol......
Speaky soon :o)
