Hello :o)

I've tried several times this week to do an entry with photo's, but for some reason AOL would not let me upload my pics ....grrrr!   

So lets have another go !!

Yay, it worked !   So the first couple of days of my holiday it rained :o(    as the weather has been awful i had decided to ask my Auntie to teach me some of her cooking skills - she is a fabulous cook, in fact my Mum and all her sisters are very talented, they can knit,sew, bake fabulous cakes (and i am talking wedding cake clever here!) they all have green fingers for the garden......get my drift ?   very talented :o)      somehow it has eluded me, maybe talent skips a generation, what do you think ?   (giggles).     I have never made Meringue, i've always thought it was difficult...... errr doh! me .....(giggles).....it was easy peasy lemon squeezeeeeeeeee.........i'm gigglin here at myself, i am so blonde .....heheee!      Look here is another picture of my fab Pavlova ......

i think they call that a birds eye view !   It is filled with whipped double cream and and fresh fruit as you can see, and, it was very yummy indeed.    So, if you need a Pavlova making, i'm ya girl !!

My dear friend Mort is guest editor at  http://journals.aol.com/journalseditor/magicsmoke/  and he has mentioned my journal as one he likes to read, the crazy fool ......hehee ! - thanks Mort and Welcome to anyone who drops by to read my journal.  So why do i keep a journal ?   easy answer - to amuse myself !!  and i hope it will still amuse me when i re read it in my dotage ....giggles :o)

Well i have just got up and out of the shower, so must go have some breakfast now or should i say brunch !!   Then i am off to do some recycling and shopping, must take Alice to the car wash too, she is off to live with her new owner on Wednsday, when Miss Latte moves in ....... i'm sooooooo excited  - to all new readers i am referring to my car/s.... you will all meet her in due course !

Hello :o)

I'm home.     Arrived back home on Saturday at 8.40pm, my brother picked me up from the train station.   My train was two hours late - actually thats not correct i was two hours late arriving home than i had anticipated as my cousin did not get me to the station in time and i missed the train !!    errr..... it was all a bit 'do-g-vu', i missed my train when coming back from Birmingham earlier this year, remember ?    So after a cuppa and a chat Julian went off home, telling me to go for dinner tomorrow...... he is such a good brother and really looks after me.

I had a lovely week and have taken lots of photographs, which i shall show you.  My Aunt and Uncle live in a small village called Skerne, nr Driffield, East Yorkshire.  They have a lovely home....... here are some shots of their back garden (and the view from my bedroom window)- the fish pond..

and the monsters that live in it !!

Feeling Bored

Hello :o)

Surprise surprise its me !!!    Here i am in a very wet and miserable East Yorkshire, it was a lovely day the day i arrived and sunday wasn't too bad but yesterday and today it has rained, and so we have remained indoors, no point in getting soaked to the skin is there. However i feel tomorrow we must go out otherwise we will go stir crazy....lol.......of course we have done lots of chatting and Jackie and i have done some beading and some knitting and stitched a teddy bear together......oh and i have had a cookery lesson on how to make a Pavlova.....hehee.... food, that made you prick your ears up.......gigglin now ......my Auntie Jackie is a fabulous cook and yesterday she showed me how to make a merguine (have spelt that wrong) pronounced mer-rang.......gigglin at how hopeless i am .....    :o)     anyway it was fabulous we filled it with cream, strawberries, raspberries and kiwi..... yum yum yum is all i can say......... i took a photo of it and will post it when i return.

Hello :o)

I'm off on me hols for a week - catching the train to Hull tomorrow, its an 8 hour journey, so have packed a book, my ipod, and several bags of sweeties to keep me entertained along the way !     Hopefully there will be some nice stranger to chat with too ........i jus love chatting to strangers !

I went to my Auntie Jackie's last year (she is my Mum's youngest sister) we had such a lovely time and although the weather forecast is rain, rain, rain, i'm sure we will have a nice time.

So with 41 emails still waiting to be read i will bid you all farewell and hopefully catch up with all your news when i get back.

As Barry would say - Cheerio !

Hello :o)

You know i am so busy i don't know how i have the time to live this life !!!   I even had two parties to attend last Saturday.     In the afternoon i had a 'pool party' to go to - i thought it may have been cancelled as the weather was worse than awful.   But the party goers persevered and a marquee was erected on the lawn alongside the swimming pool.     It attempted several times to launch itself into space, with people screaming and giggling with horror and delight........i think the delighted were rather intoxicated .....hehee !   throughout we had torrential rain, i was absolutely frozen, how i envied all those girlies that were able to wear their  'dates' jacket........i did find a spare table cloth, and wrapped it around myself for warmth - fab look ..... !!

By 6.30pm when i could take no more, i left and headed for party number two...... my nephew was celebrating his 25th Birthday, as soon as i entered the house i was surrounded by good looking young men ....hey, this was more like it ......hehee!   I was soon put in my place tho when they all kept calling me 'Auntie'.......still thats men for you, no matter what age they are ;o)     It was a lovely evening, but come 10pm they all headed for the local night club scene and i headed for my bed feeling shattered !!

I am now jus off to meet up with Sarah (my flicks pal) we are going to see 'Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging'.... i fancy a HUGE bowl of popcorn too..... (giggles).......

Hearing Abba's Greatest Hits !

Hello :o)

Not long got back from the flicks and jus had to do an entry in my journal.    What a fabulous film, i luved it, luved it, luved it .... !!!    Mamma Mia - fantastic film, so gives you the feel good factor, go see it NOW, you will so luvit :o)      I want to see it again now !     Sarah and I took Marion (oddly enough Marion strangely looks like Meryl Streep -its true, she does !) to see this film at our little picture house and it was showing at Screen 7 - fab leather arm chairs to sit in !      We were all singing and dancing by the end of it, the audience (all girlies) were clappin, and whistleing  too.........you jus have to see it ......Piers Bronson is so cheesey its great !

Feeling tired after such a fabulous evening ......

Feeling Thoughtful

Hello :o)

I'm exhuasted !     Its been such a fabulous day, Marion arrived around 11am, she is now staying with my until next Thursday, then she heads off to Norfolk and retirement.     So when she arrived we had coffee, and then popped out to the post office (i forgot to pay my gas bill - thought i had paid it and ignored the reminder only to arrive home on friday to a letter threatening me with disconection!   of course i rang them straight away and said ' err sorry, blonde moment, thought i had paid bill'...... i wonder how many times they have heard that before ..... hehee!) so we nipped to the post office and paid said very overdue gas account !    Then popped over to Stithians and the local butchers and i bought a dozen sausages (yes i know we are metric and it should be 10, but i don't do metric!) 2 sirloin steaks, and a chicken.    We then popped to Morrisons and then down to the beach at Portreath where we had a late brekkie of egg & bacon sarnie with mugs of coffee...... oh yum, i was in heaven !       We sat in the sunshine and enjoyed another cup of coffee :o)

We then drove home, roof down, shades on (looking very sassy - giggles at the mere thought !)   Did a few chores like, bring in the washing and hang more out !  then set off to Falmouth and sit on the beach.......it was fabulous.    We had Cafe Latte around 6pm then drove home (yep, top down and still looking sassy !!)  Marion cracked open a bottle of red, while i got the steaks going .......oh my did they taste good.    We've been chatting and laughing and planning the rest of the week - and it is sounding fab !

Right now i am sufficiently mellow (what do you mean i am drunk !!!    gigglin) and ready for bed ...... hehee !

Hello :o)

It feels like ages since i last did an entry - i have been so busy, oh for a night in .....(giggles)...... i've had a half day today - i need the afternoon to get ready for this evening !!   Its Marion's 60th Birthday, and we have hired the stretched limo for her ... yay !! i have booked a very posh restaurant overlooking the Bay at Newquay, its a gorgeous day today so i am expecting a gorgeous evening and maybe a good sunset....... i told the restaurant that as 10 of us would be dining i wanted window seats and did not expect to be seated at the back of the restaurant out of the way ...... cheeky aren't i......but then if you don't ask ......(giggles)..... i've ordered a HUGE chocolate birthday cake too.......i'm so excited, i can't wait !!

Marion doesn't have a clue about the limo, and oddly enough when we have had the limo for various parties and things she has never been able to make it, so tonight will be lovely for her.    I'm taking my camera so i shall post a few on my journal, i'm hoping to take lots of piccies as Marion is also moving out of Cornwall at the end of the month to Norfolk (think i mentioned that before) i shall put all the piccies in an album for her.... ahhhh !!    :o)

I've wrapped her pressie from us all, a lovely St Justin (cornish) pewter necklace and matching earrings, its very classic in design and is gorgeous (i want it .....hehee) ..... now i must go and get ready, have to paint my nails....... have already been to the hairdressers ......how pampered i am ....... you'd think i was meeting a gorgeous chap .....(giggles).....but first i jus need to make myself a blue necklace to match my blouse......... gosh i am so clever.......(giggles)....... !!!

Oh and by the way, she says everso casually ...... i ordered the Nissa Micra Convertible.... yay .......(giggling lots now)  she arrives on 1st September ......how fab is that ......my life is one big high at the moment......my goodness i am gonna come down to earth with such a bump....... more giggles ;o)

Hello :o)

Gosh what a week its been, and what a day its been today........i don't know if i am on my head or my heels.....(giggles)......and as i prepare for my dinner guests tonight i am getting hyped up !!     Do you think i should have a Sherry......(more giggles) crikey, it would make me worse..... maybe i will have one then .....tee hee!

Remember i told you about my friend who is all 'luved up' with this chap, well tonight they are coming to dinner, already i am feeling like a gooseberry, and i did want to invite a fourth person to balance the numbers but was told 'us three' will be fine !!   Hmmmm...... are you drawing your own conclusions ?   

So i have jus put the Chicken in the oven - we are having roast chicken dinner, lemon roulade for pud and a cornish cheese board, i have been told 'he' is a meat and two veg kinda chap, so i hope the menu meets his approval.... and if it doesn't.......tough ......(giggles).

Right i am off to pour myself that sherry before i open the wine  !!!!
