Feeling Happy

Not what I was going to write but........

Oh gosh, I've been tagged!  Marie (Marie's Muses), having herself been challenged to give 6 "Things about me", then had to challenge 6 others!  So anyway, while I'm honoured that I popped into someone's mind, I'm not sure there are that many things about me that would interest anyone.  I'll have a go,.....now let me think........

1.    When I was 7 I had a Reading Age (how they assessed it then) of 16.  My junior school report says so.  I don't know why because I was never particularly good at anything else.  I can only think it was because my mum taught me to read before I went to school, flying in the face of the governmental advice of the time.  I firmly believe that was the start of me filling my head with useless information which only ever comes in handy for the Sunday Express Crossword and the Daily Telegraph Cryptic.  And for screaming at the telly for Eggheads and Millionaire.

2.    I cry.  I would love to have a bash at Weakest Link but would cry if Anne Robinson had a go at me!  If I'm cross about something, I can't take issue with the source of my wrath because I get about five words out and dissolve in tears.

3.    I laugh.  I'm a nervous laugher.  I laugh (just silent spluttering) when the bride is walking down the aisle because if I didn't I would cry.  Same with funerals and that's even worse!

4.    I snore.  Apparently.  Keith says.  I would like to say "But hey, what does he know." but I fear it's true.  He alleges that's why our neighbours decided to swap their living room and bedroom over, so their bedroom no longer adjoins ours.

5    Most people know I'm terrified of butterflies and moths but in my time (for which read childhood) I've been scared of birds, balloons, flowers, bats and stained glasss windows (huh?), all at the same time!  All of them stem back to the original butterflies.

    ..........gosh this is hard......

6.    All through school I wanted to play the piano or the violin or both,  and be a nurse.  Ah - no - there was a brief period when I wanted to be a bus conductress because I used to love bell pushes and tearing perforations and bus conductresses got to do these things all day, every day.  All I got play was the recorder and at the time I thought this was very melodic and tuneful but listening as an adult to school recorder bands - nasty, screechy things.  Sorry kids!

Well, there's my 6 so now I get to be picker of six pickees and my pickees  are:

Kath - http://journals.aol.co.uk/astoriasand/MYSIMPLERHYMES/

(when you can Motherhen.  I know it's a bit fraught just now)

Sandra - http://journals.aol.com/labdancer51/SandrasScribbles/

Jasper - http://journals.aol.co.uk/ruthnjasper/the-dogs-blog/

Joan - http://journals.aol.co.uk/aniracj/StrannyDayze/

Jeannette - http://journals.aol.co.uk/jeanno43/JeannettesJottings/

Sorry if this isn't how you make links but it's best I can do!

Here are the Rules:

1. Link to the person that tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

Oh dear Angie, you`ve picked me!  Now I`ll have to try to think of something remotely interesting about myself...lol!  Thanks anyway, I`ll have a go tomorrow.  I`m like you, I can`t confront anyone really, not because I cry but I feel as though I`m going to faint, why that is I`ve no idea...lol!  Also I`m happy to report that my own reading age as a child was really high too and I was allowed books from the headmistress`s private library (she says smugly)! :o)

    Love Sandra xxxx

Ahh Angie, you and I are more alike than I care to admit!!!  Wait!!! I just did!  Doh!  All of these could have been written by me, well all except for the bus conductress bit and the butterfly/moth fear.  I have always wanted to play the piano and used to envy those friends of mine who had parents that could afford lessons for their kids.  Alas I was relegated to pretending in the quiet of my room on my baby brother's toy piano when nobody was looking!!!  Everyone in my family but my mother has nervous laughter and we embarass the heck out of her whenever we all get together for weddings and funerals.  It's actually quite painful for me as the more I try to stop, the more I laugh.  I hate that.  I also cry at the drop of a hat and over everything.  I cry when I am mad, I cry when I'm sad, I cry when I'm happy.  I'd rather be an old softie though than hard.  Thanks so much Angie for rising to my challenge and doing such a cracker jack job at it!  Oh, why oh why don't we live in the same neighborhood??  I bet we would be grand friends.
    love,
    Marie
