Feeling Angry

A Rant (Adult Language)

http://www.oup.co.uk/isbn/0-19-861022-X?view=ask

social service

  • noun 1 (social services) services provided by the state for the community, such as education and medical care. 2 activity aiming to promote the welfare of others.

Hi all, if you don’t like strong language of an adult nature I suggest that you close this page now and come back when I am in a better mood, as this is a full on rant

Above you can see the dictionary definition of the phrase Social Care, in my opinion this is a totally inaccurate description and I feel like making a petition to get it changed. This is how I believe it should read

Social Care : Noun, (myth)

Mythical notion of services designed to help people in difficult circumstances. Never truly achieved in reality.

Social Services are crap. They feed you a load of bollocks (and before you hold your hands up in shock the word bollocks, although colloquially used to describe a certain part of a gentlemans reproductive organs, in fact is an adjective with the meaning nonsense). They say they are there to help and I have been promised so much and do you know what they have actually delivered a big fat fucking ZERO.

14 weeks ago Jason’s care manager, otherwise known as the incredible disappearing woman, promised to email me as soon as she got back to the office with a plan for Jason’s immediate future. Now I know that petrol prices are high but even if she had to walk the entire way with her feet tied together I am sure she could have travelled those 13 miles in less that 14 weeks.

She promised to get back in touch as soon as Connexions* had been to see us, well they came 10 weeks ago and I know that they sent in their report 2 days after seeing us as they also sent me a copy. They put theirs in the post so obviously the good old postal system and pen and paper work better than email.

Finally after several phone calls all of which ended in a promise that they would get her to call me she made an appointment to come see us.

Now those that know me know I am not a tidy person in fact housework is a mystery to me I don’t like it and I don’t do it very often but when someone is coming I tidy. The appointment was for2pm, which came and went with no sign of any visitors. Then at 2.30pm I got a call from her office telling me she was called away and had to reschedule. Well I lost it and spent the next 30 mins screaming at the woman on the other end of the phone. I asked her why bother, you never deliver and I would have to go into a mental institution or murder somebody before they took and fucking notice. I continued in this vein stating that perhaps if I were some junkie pop star or selling the shit they seem to want to put in their veins these days they may notice me. I was so angry that I was crying which pissed me off even more and believe if that stupid bitch had been within arms reach she would now be in hospital and I would probably be in police custody.

We have tried so hard to do without their help when Jason was growing up and because of that they now think we are a soft touch who won’t kick up a fuss. Well boy did they get that wrong, I intend to write to anyone I can think of including our local MP to point out the totally inadequacy of this so called service.

Well if you are still here thanks for listening to my rant and I will fill you in if and when this stupid cow every turns up.

Feeling Chillin'

Time Flies

I am in quite a mellow mood this evening, which is just as well considering aol has already eaten this entry twice. I must say aol is getting very hungry lately it seems to be swallowing up emails, journal entries and pictures like there is no tomorrow perhaps we should have an appeal on its behalf for donations then we may be left alone lol.

Anyway back to what I was doing.

As the title says time flies, it seems like only a few days since my last entry not months as is the case lol and boy have things changed round here in that short time. For a starter Jason's social worker disappeared off the face of the earth for 8 weeks and I am still awaiting the email she was sending 12 weeks ago. Apparently she has been sick but no one thought to let her client base know, isn't our social care system great eh! Any long story cut short she still hasn't sorted his care package, still only been what 9 months now since we had any help, and she is coming out to see us again next week.

Other things in the news I now have not one but two part time jobs. Both are only about an hour a day but believe me when I say that is quite an achievement when you consider that I haven't felt upto working since my brother was murdered. Suppose I have to thank the chemical enhancement the doc gives me you know those little white take away the pain pills lol.

One job has me back cleaning again, yes Jan I am once again an old scrubber lol, and it is at a publishing company who produce 3 magazines and several reference pamphlets and books. The magazines are Dog Monthly (bet you didn't know dogs could read lol), Practical Family History and Family Tree Magazine. The people there are really nice.

The other job is caring for a really interesting woman about whom I shall tell you more another time, but I will give you a hint - she used to appear on stage, has worked with Russ Conway and Cliff Richard and appeared on national TV as one of Kenn Dodds Diddy Men lol and  oh yeah she has also been a Tiller Girl.

Well enough rambling from me lol don't want to send anyone to sleep. Take care of you and yours.

For Kelly who should have been celebrating her 31st birthday yesterday. We love and miss you still, forever in our hearts and minds.

Rambling

OOpps! As pointed out by Leigh I forgot to tell you who the singing group were lol. Me being clever did the entry in word but wanted to get the info right so left a gap to add the name when I posted the entry then as per usual that thought fell out of my head and ran away screaming lol. Anyway amendment made gap filled ladies named. lol Debbie xx

As I was lying in bed the other night trying to fall asleep I got to thinking about the human mind. Isn’t it an amazing thing full of all sorts of strange and wonderful dreams, memories and all the things you don’t even know you know until you need them. It struck me as amazing that we can continue to learn for the whole of our life and it got me thinking about mental illness. I myself suffer from depression and know all too well how it can mess with your thoughts and feelings. I had a friend as a teenager who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and sadly it drove her to take her life at the tender age of 17. When she was medicated she was a beautiful person but without, well the monsters that lived within her took hold and she became very dangerous. I loved her like a sister and wept at the loss of such a talented person, she was a gifted writer and excelled in poetryIn a round about way that led me to thinking about dreams and how wonderful and frightening they can be. I don’t know about you but I have some very vivid dreams and was always considered to be a chronic daydreamer as a child. I love to read and as you know if you read regularly occasionally a group of words gather in my head and end up in here as my attempt at poetry. I was very honoured this month when a group of lady singers used one of my poems in a show they we in. They are called The Sweet Adelines, and there is a link to their website below the picture of them, and I am awaiting the arrival of the printed programme which has my name in it. It is very exciting and I will show you it when it comes.

Oh well that’s enough from me, I could go on all day on the subject but I don’t want to bore you lol.

Take care of you and yours

Catch up

Hi all, sorry if my last entry worried a few people I never meant for that to happen. I was feeling low and having nightmares at the time and that was in my head and writing it out got rid lol. I have lots of stuff that floats around up there and sometimes some of it escapes but be assured I am not suicidal, have been there tried that and failed many years ago and now have far more reason to live than to die.

Anyway thought it was about time I let you all in on what's been going on at Chez Debs lol.

Jason has left school. He decided one day that he wasn't going anymore and I didn't have the strength to argue so there you have it he is now at home full time. Things have been going pretty well with him here but have to admit I do need a break every now and then. All I can say about that is Thank you Jan for being my escape for an hour or so every now and then, it is so good to have such a good friend so close believe me lol. As much as I love my son he can get on my nerves as I can his lol.

I got a little job last week, just an hour a day but it brings in a little extra money and gets me out of the house and talking to real live people for a while  and I am normally back before Jason is even out of bed lol.

I have not had any respite from the dreaded SS since October and they still haven't finished his draft budget to go to board. For those who have no contact with Social Services believe me you are lucky. When a disabled child reaches the age of 19 childrens services drop them like a hot potatoe and adult services step in to sort out a budget for care based on what the kid wants to do. Why the hell they can't start this before the respite stops is beyond me but so far we have had 4 meetings with Jason Care Manager and we still do not have a proposal to put to the board who say yea or nay on the funding. To make matters worse the board only sit once every 2 or 3 months and we have just missed the last sitting.

Other than that not much else has been going on, no time left with this and running my psp group lol. Dave is well still working every hour he can but sadly there is still way too much monthleft at the end of the money. But we will survive we always do somehow lol.

I will sign off with a little rhyme that just popped out of my head lol.

Spring

Golden trumpets salute the sky

Of brilliant cloudless blue

Crystal ice drops coat the webs

For all the world to view

Primroses in vibrant colours

Set the ground alight

Buds are present on the trees

Though still wrapped nice and tight

Hares are boxing in the fields

Birds are singing true

The world is waking up again

I love Spring don't you?

Feeling Sad

Poem ~ Disturbed

DISTURBED

Wings beat at a tethered flame

Tears fall like constant rain

Is this a good day to die?

Pain sears a withered heart

Feet tread a lonely path

Is this a good day to die?

Lovers arms give warm embrace

They cannot fill the empty space

Is this a good day to die?

Boots kick a fearful face

Sharp blade invades soft lace

Was this a good way to die?

Feeling Mischievous

My Hand Has been slapped, metaphorically lol

Hello all, I got told off today (well sort of) by Jan for not posting enough lol. So here I am quilty as charged and with my hand metaphorically slapped lol. Anyway the kick up the backside actually worked for once and I finally have an entry ready, so take a seat and grab this copy of Toy Town Times, lol.

TOY TOWN TIMES

TROUBLE IN TOY TOWN

The quiet little hamlet of Candlewick Green has been rocked by an act of pure malice.

One of it's oldest and most productive buildings has been the subject of an arson attack. Windy Millers mill, pictured above is more tranquil times, was burnt to the ground in the attack. Fire engines from nearby Trumpton were called to the scene on Saturday night to find the mill already well ablaze.

Officers, Hugh, Pew, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb were presented with commendations for acts of bravey for there part in the rescue of Mr Miller and his cat from the burning building.

Mr Miller is recovering in hospital were his condition is said to be stable. PC Plodd is appealing for any information in respect of this attack, if you know anything he can be contacted on 999.

Article submitted by roaming reporter Rupert Bear, Pictures by Dora the Explorer.

BASH STREET ASBO

Since the introduction of metal detectors on the entrances of Bash Street high School last week, several members of the notorious gang, known as The Bash Street Kids, have been found to be on possession of weapons. These weapons are in the form of knuckle dusters and highly dangerous in the wrong hands.

All members of the gang, pictured below with blacked out eyes for legal requirements, have been handed Anti Social Behaviour Orders to prevent them meeting and it requires them to be home by 5pm each evening. They have also been suspended from the school for 2 weeks.

Feeling Surprised

I am 1year old (and a day lol)

I just realised that my journal had it's first birthday yesterday so Happy Birthday Whatever lol, you have become a good friend. A place to share laughs, tears and frustrations and have provided me with many new and interesting people to get to know and a whole new hobby.

I am still amazed that there are people mad enough to read my ramblings lol and very thankful for those that do. I know I go missing every once in a while but there are times when other things have to come first. I try to keep up with visiting others too but often gat distracted by that horrid reality thing.

On the whole everyone I have met has turned out to be really nice and so helpful and the one or two that haven't are not really worthy of mention.

To My Jland Friends

My days were often dreary,

Spent sitting home alone.

Until I started journaling,

And opened up my home,

To people I have never seen

Nor hardly spoken to

Those people mean so much to me

Who are they, they are you.

Thank you for visiting my journal.

2007 What a Year Adult content (swearing)

2007 What a year. Lots has happened lots has changed and a hell of a lot of it not for the better. Our brilliant government are pushing our country ever further in to the shit while the majority of the people sit back and wait for somebody else to sort it out. American style compensation culture has stopped many people from helping others in times of extreme need, how can you stop to help an injured person when it could cost you your life savings. More kids than ever are killing each other with knives and guns all thinking they are black american rappers. Everything can now be blamed on someone else, when I was a kid if you fell over or tripped up in the street your mother would tell you to look where you were going and pick your bloody feet up. Now when it happens there are a barage of lawyers advertising on tv to help you sue the council which by the way now has to have a slush fund to cover such things and who the hell pays for it. I'll tell you who the tax payer and by degree schools, hospitals and other services which are being slowly eradicated from our shores.

Housing prices are so ridiculously high that people are going way over what they can afford just for somewhere to live. What has happened to our national pride has political correctness totally demolished it. Every day our rights are lessened by some jumped up idiot with a twisted opinion of the world. You know the ones they were the kid in the duffle coat in the playground with the briefcase wandering around talking to themselves with a big note on their backs saying kick me. Well the boot is on the other foot now because they are taking over, for pities sake you can't even say Merry Christmas as it may offend someone and land you in court.

There has been some brighter news too and some things that I am thankful for. I am still alive for one lol, used to say I would never get as old as forty when I was young, I'll be dead by then lol. Well it doesn't seem that old from this side of it lol so I am glad that prediction didn't pan out. I have made lots of new friends in Jland, started this journal and my other and now with my friend Stephanie have started a psp group of our own.

Jason is happy and that makes me happy, Dave is dissappointed with the performance put on by the England team but then he has been following them for 40 yrs man and boy so he should be used to it by now lol.

Well roll on 2008 cause lets face it it can't be any worse than the year we just lived lol.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year and year filled with less hassle, illness and stupidity than any year you have lived before.

All the best.

Has it really been this long

Where does the time go........ it seems like only yesterday I made the last entry on this journal can't believe it was 2 months ago.

Well a lot has gone on since halloween, Jason had a wonderful birthday. I took him and a friend to an archery day for disabled kids and they had a whale of a time, even got to have a go myself and actually managed to hit the target lol. Then it was my birthday which passed without much fuss did get a couple of cards but my so called family, you know those people who live in your house when you are growing up, totally forgot and not even a phone call to mark the event, isn't it nice to be loved. At least my friends remembered and for that I am very thankful.

What else I have been up to you ask (yeah right like your world will end if you don't hear it lol). Well my friend Stephanie and I have started a psp group together and although we have only been going a short time it is doing ok. This is all thanks to Jan (serendipity) really. If I hadn't seen her mug shot on aol homepage one day last year I would never have started a journal therefore never have met Steph who lives in New York and never have started a group, so 3 cheers for Jan.

Christmas passed without much fuss, just the 3 of us. Jason got as much as we could afford to give him but that meant we couldn't buy anything for each other. Jason did buy us each some lovely prezzies and that was enough. Played silly games in the evening with a friend from nextdoor and force fed paracetamol to Dave to stop him moaning (serious case of man flu lol). Planning to stay home and watch Jools Holland non New Years Eve and that will end the year off nicely.

My hope for my family and every one else is that the New Year brings a brighter more settled time and an easier life.

Take care and hold those you love you never know how long you have with them.

Please if going out on New Years Eve, even just to visit friends then Please Please don't drink and drive.
