Just like the sign says ...

This will be my last entry at Dancing in the Rain International. My UK visit was great, it was a welcome shelter in the storm.  I was actually able to write a Ku, a poem and even share a photo or two while I was here,  but ... it was never intednded to be a permanent solution.

As soon as I get the details worked out ... you will find me Dancing in the Rain at Blogspot.

Purple Passion ...

paths crossed, tentative thoughts of possibility.

Entwined hands, awkward kiss, passion grows, valentine.

Gratifying small talk, struggling hearts. Daring to live, love, laugh and trust again.

Opening up and then closing the door, the good bad and ugly, being fully understood.

Hope grows, as the unknown becomes familiar and then adored.

Giving and taking, wanting more, succumbing to passion yet two years later still somewhat reserved.

Sometimes helpless and hopeless, other times in complete control. I love you is spoken, but is it really heard?

Vulnerable hearts wanting nothing more than to love and be loved, but not quite prepared to surrender.

Cosmic courtship of Venus and Mars, discontentedly accepting the silence and preparing to continue dancing solo in the rain.

Purple Passion!

Ugh! Love sick ... remind me not to try this again!

December 1st ...

is World Aids Day. Dancing in the Rain International is putting on it's ribbon a few days early. Promoters are aiming for 10,000 websites to be wearing the ribbon by December 1st.

To learn more about World Aids Day and to get your own virtual red ribbon go HERE now!!! What are you waiting for?

BTW ... my choice for J-Link of the day would have been one of three memorable J-Land AIDS entries written by Albert, Michael and Mortimer.

I won't be linking to any of those entries tonight out of respect for the writers self imposed exile from J-Land after AOL's decision to add the distracting and highly annoying banner ads to our journals. Oops ... I'm trying not to write about the banner ads here in my new space.

All good things ...

eventually die. OK, so it's not dead. I'm exaggerating a bit but ... my 1999 Hyundai Elantra is in need or replacing. I've been driving for almost 2 years now without a car payment, YAY!!!

I've had almost no trouble at all with this car in the last 7 years (highly recommend Hyundai) but ... it's getting to the age and the mileage (94,000) where things are going to start needing to be replaced.

The A/C went out last week, I had freon added with no guarantee that it would be a permanent solution. (it wasn't). I've got a serious leak and the unit needs to be replaced.

This is not the worst time of year to be without A/C in South Florida (it's actually been little more than an inconvenience not to have it this week). Other than the A/C the car is in perfect running condition and I could probably replace the A/C and drive it another year or so but ... I work hard, I deserve a nice car and I'm on my way out the door to find one. Just need to look up the name and address of the 4 local dealers near me.

I've been in sales all of my life so my negotiating skills are fairly sharp. I've included a copy of the notes I'm taking with me, let me know if I've forgotten anything.

     Happy Saturday all.

Today ...

Haiku:

There were little things

in my back yard, that beckoned:

get close, touch, observe.

Thankful Today ...

Thankful for having a day off work today.

Thankful for spending the afternoon with an old friend that I haven't seen in years.

Thankful for a Holiday feast in the making.

Thankful for an evening spent with family and friends putting my sisters new 230 gallon aquarium up. (it took 7 of us :)

Thankful ... just thankful for this day!

It's lonely here in J-Land

Thinking of you, as you all head out in different directions.

No where to go ...

nothing to say ...

no one to see ...

Dam you AOL

My first entry in Dancing in the Rain ... March 2004

In search of me

I am 41 years old, a single mother in South Florida, and have fewer responsibilities to others than I ever have in my life. My life is finally becomming my own and sometimes I dont take full advantage of that freedom.

I am in search of me. I am learning that every day I am given the opportunity to reinvent my self and the sky is the limit.

Finding adventure and pleasure is becomming a driving force in my life. Creative liberties for my future are compleatly in my hands. No one is going to pave the way for me.

I  do have to remind my self sometimes to let love in, I forget that love like life is not a constant state of being. It is made up of ordinary moments and incredible moments. Being loveable is the first step to being able to love.

When I care enough to listen to a friends thoughts, truths and new ideas they will often care enough to listen back and then I feel loved and less alone.

I can remember the day that I wrote this ... at that time, I had no idea what an adventure writing Dancing in the Rain would become and how many friends I would find along the way.

Generic Responce ...

Did anyone else send a message to AOL @  JournalChanges@aol.com about the banner ads?

If so ... did your response look a lot like the one below?

Guessing they sent out a generic form letter response.

  In a message dated 11/16/2005 2:01:08 A.M. Eastern Standard Time, Coy1234787 writes:
New updates not the best business idea for AOL. Upset about not being able to post an entry in my own journal ... very upset about the non approved advertisements in my journal ... very, very upset that so many of my friends are leaving J-land.
