Welcome!
Hi everyone,
Welcome to AOL UK's community team blog. The community team is made of Mark, Theresa and me - Wendy. We take care of all things social media, moderation and community along with various other bits and bobs.
We've set this blog up to share community news and tips with you, and we'd welcome your comments. So, we'll be telling you about updates and issues concerning...
Chat rooms
Message boards
Profiles
Blogs
Groups
Moderation
Community Leaders
The first piece of news I have to share with you is that our new video product, Uncut, entered beta testing in the UK last week. UnCut allows you to upload videos direct from your desktop, webcam or camcorder. You can post comments about and rate videos other people have uploaded, and share your favourites using AIM or email. It's great fun, and I urge you to give it a go!
Please leave a comment to let us know if there's anything you've got questions about, or if there's something you'd like to see us writing about here on the blog!
Wendy

So at last the Old Message boards have been stopped, Ok they were accessible for a long time after the new boards were launched, presumably to allow for any
bugs to be sorted out,if this was the case then why are they still not displaying properly,I.E when I click on page 2 of my boards the search box obscures some of the message titles, text at the top of the board overlaps and the choice to select the next page has gone,if you are able to get to page 3&4 the search box is in the way again. As much as you can mark all messages read on individual boards this is not the case on the main list of boards, in which case you to have click on each board title to see if there are any new additions, things are a bit better on the US version but I find that I have to let the page settle down before I continue as it does a little jig until it has fully downloaded. The only thing keeping the AOL software on my computer is the E-mail access, the moment that changes I will have no need for it.Please try to help make a once enjoyable experience enjoyable again.
Thank you,
Phill

Oooooooooh nice here I might just come back and add a few more comments. Hopefully it will help with the chat rooms as much as all the other things related to AOL considering I spend a lot of my time in the chat rooms.
Thanks guys for the nice welcome in here and will see you soon.

I am on Silver and was promised at the beginning of the year a free speed upgrade from 1 to 2 meg. Do you know if this upgrade is forthcoming and if so when?

Well let's enter this with an open mind. If everyone behaves themselves, it could be fun. As it is at the present time, the General Politics Board has become the 'catch-all' for anything that does not fit in anywhere else. Perhaps it will all end up here.
