Saturday 5th April

Dartmouth AFC 0 Torpoint Athletic 1

It looks as if our season is to end with a whimper as we tamely conceded this game to Torpoint

To be fair to Benny he was about 8 players short for this game and I take my hat off to the lad for playing 90 minutes himself. I was particularly sad that Sam Churchill didnt play today following injury whilst on England duty.

And then after 20 minutes we lost Richie Hammett with a calf injury and we had Jason Charlesworth rather harshly sent off for pushing someone in the face

This emphasises our need to enlarge the 1st team squad for next season if we are to have a serious attempt at the title

One consolation is John Barrow had his first real run out for us and he seems to be a big prospect for next season

For most of the game neither team created any good chances and the goal came when Gavin was unsighted and a long range effort went in off his back after hitting the underside of the bar. It was the sort of problem he's swallowed dozens of times this season and was worth 3 points to the Cornish lads

I felt sorry for John Rimmer and Chris Hooper who didnt get a sniff all game
