Q. How hard were you ?

A. Bill Shankly told me , Son dont take any s*** from anyone and 40 years later I'm still here. I played once at full back and Joe Fagan said just stand next to their winger and it worked.

Q. You and Roy Keane. Who would be the last man standing ?

A. I'm not scared of anyone except my wife. I once played against Jimmy Greaves and gave him a piece of paper on the pitch. It was the menu from the local hospital. I wasn't afraid of anybody and they were all scared of me.

Q. You're marking Christiano Ronaldo. Fancy your chances?

A. He wouldn't be rolling around on the ground after I'd finished with him

Q. What went wrong at Liverpool?

A. Players laughing and joking on the bench for £50,000 a week

Q. Finally Tommy how lonely were all those early baths?

A. You've got the wrong bloke. I never broke anyone's leg and I only got sent off once in 632 games, and that was for dissent
